AFROFEST Africa 2022 – Dar Es Salaam.

Auditions:

We are hosting auditions to select the artists who will be invited to perform at AFROFEST Toronto in July 2023. In all, we are seeking 5 to 10 artists who will perform in Canada.

Established in 1989, AFROFEST is the largest free African festival in North America with about 140,000 visitors annually. In 2022, we received about 140 applications from artists all over the world vying to perform on the platform. Considering that it is almost impossible to capture the diversity of African music in a single 3 – day festival and that the focus of AFROFEST is to showcase African talent in Canada, Music Africa has embarked on a project: AFROFEST Africa 2022 in Dar es Salaam which will focus on showcasing the beauty of Tanzanian music and cultural heritage as well as that of the surrounding African regions.

The project involves bringing artists from Canada to perform with and alongside Tanzanian talent for cross-promotional and educational purposes and to connect the Tanzanian and African musical industry to Canada.
